Custom made cloaks

This cloak is a orange and silver satin reversible. Both fabrics have sparkles. The Orange was supposed to go with the brown velvet. Because of the stretch in both the red and brown velvet, it was easier to put the satins together, and then the velvets together.

Rainbow Rag Rug

I finally have the black warp on my loom. I had lots of help from my wonderful niece. This is the first time I have used the black. I have only had the natural warp. I thought I needed something darker because I had all of these bright fabrics to use. Now I have the rainbow rug done. It is 30 x 39. Macy would stand on the end and catch the shuttle and then throw it back to me. She also was great help on pushing the peddles. She'll make a great weaver someday!

Mud puddles

I was talking to my Mom on the phone the other day and my 4 year old niece was there. She told me Macy wanted to go outside. So she was watching through the window while talking to me. Macy was investigating a mud puddle. First she put her toe in, then she stomped around for a while. Then she knelt down and put her hand in. Then she decided to go all or nothing. The last thing I heard from my Mom was " I gotta go, Macy just layed down in the puddle!"

Custom Cloaks

I am making these amazing cloaks for a wonderful woman in California. She sent me the most amazing kinda tie-dyed fabrics. They are such bright limes, and fuchsias with sparkles and are gorgeous. I'm doing 10 and this is the first one.

Blue sparkle cloak

I had bought this fabric a long time ago and forgotten all about it. It was in a bag in the bottom of the closet. It is a gorgeous light blue with white flowers and silver sparkles. It is a heavier poly fabric and I couldn't make tie out of it, so I added a white frog at the neck. It is gorgeous.

I just created a treasury with some of the amazing artists from Etsy. It is titled " Exquisite Dreams of Gustav Klimt". I finished the blue jean rug. I used one inch strips and sewed them together. It is thick and heavy and 30 x35.

Blue Jean Rag Rugs

I received all these great jeans from a friend and I have started making rugs. I used my electric scissors to cut them into two inch strips. I sewed a bunch of these together and started weaving. And it didn't work. It was just too bulky. So I took all of that out and cut them into one inch strips, and that worked great. It has enough bulk to it to make it a heavy rug, but not too much that it won't weave well. I read in one of my books to always do a sampler before starting to see if the warp and the weft work together. Also to see if the idea in your head is what you are actually weaving. It is an excellent idea and my goal is to start doing samples. It would have saved me some time, plus I would have seen how the different blues would go together.
